During your investigation of the topic of slope, you discovered many interesting and new concepts regarding slope, change in x & y, and slope intercept form. As a means for you to demonstrate your new found knowledge, you will create a podcast which includes the following requirements:
- A multimedia score created using Garage Band that has 6 key elements of the type of slope that you were given. Your monologue must include a description of how you achieved this requirement.
- Each contributor’s monologue must highlight at least 6 new topics that you have learned about slope, change in x & y …
- You must include the following three topics in your monologue:
- slope
- slope intercept form
- 3 different examples of your type of slope - The monologue of each contributor must be at least 60 seconds long.
- The piece must include at least 8 different pictures that visually represent the topics that you discuss in your monologue. At least 4 pictures must be created by the contributor and there can not be any “white space”. The pictures should only appear while they are being discussed.
- This project is worth 10% of your MP 2 Grade, so it would be wise to go the extra mile, give the extra effort and take the time to produce a high quality product. My expectation for the final product is much higher than it was for your first Jing project.
This project is due by COB on Friday December 5, 2008. There are no excuses for a tardy delivery as the final product must be electronically submitted to Mr. Snee’s Grade 8 Workspace Grade 8 Hand In Folder. In other words, if you are out of school on December 5th, your absence will not excuse you from receiving a zero for this project. A piece of advice, don’t wait until the last minute, hand it in early just in case something goes wrong. PLAN TO EXECUTE, and then EXECUTE THE PLAN!!!!! Manage your time, balance the workload and don’t make the mistake of waiting until the last minute.
Please note that these podcasts will be posted on this blog site for the whole world to see and hear, so you should not include any personal information or references in your podcast. If you have any questions you must reply to this blog posting before Friday November 21.
Good luck, have some fun with this project and happy podcasting!!!!!
Mr Snee,
I noticed in this blog posting that this project is due December 5. In class a few weeks ago, you said that it was due on November 28 and the deadline for feedback was November 14. I was wondering that since the due date was changed if the deadline for feedback was changed as well.
You are correct on both notes – Due Date -> Friday December 5, 2008, feedback deadline -> Friday November 21. If you have any other questions please let me know.
Sláinte,
Mr. Snee
GO GIANTS!!!!!
What is the website for where we can look at some of the podcasts that students made last year as an example?
