Fantasy Football Project

Rules for the Project

Dear Students,

This is a very important year in your math experience. I look forward to working with you to apply your math skills to play Fantasy Football. It is therefore very important that we all clearly understand the rules for the game. The following guidelines are presented so that you can play the game, apply your math skills and have some fun.

Guidelines

Team Roster
You will be expected to draft a team and create a roster of the following NFL Player position:

PLAYER POSITION NO. OF PLAYERS EXAMPLES
Quarterbacks 2 Players Brett Favre & Eli Manning
Running Back 2 Players LaDainian Tomlinson, Larry Johnson, Adrian Peterson
Wide Receivers 4 Players Larry Fitzgerald, Joe Jurevicius, Kevin Boss, Jerricho Cotchery
Kickers 2 Players David Akers and Martin Gramatica
Team Defense 2 Teams NY Giants & SF 49ers

Each student will have a maximum budget of $40,000,000 dollars to spend on his or her team roster. Thesalary sheet will be distributed in class and can be accessed from this LINK. To select a team roster, a student can consult with any person available to them: parent, sibling, uncle/aunt, grandparent, neighbor, teacher, or administrator. Each student’s team roster is due to Mr. Snee by 12:00 noon on Saturday September 6, 2008.

Weekly Starting Lineup

Each student will select from his or her team roster and must submit a weekly starting lineup electronically to Mr. Snee before 3:00 pm each Friday afternoon. To select a weekly starting lineup, a student can consult with any person available to them: parent, sibling, uncle/aunt, grandparent, neighbor, teacher, or administrator. The starting lineup for each week will consist of the following:

PLAYER POSITION NO. OF PLAYERS EXAMPLES
Quarterbacks 1 Player Eli Manning
Running Back 2 Players LaDainian Tomlinson, Larry Johnson
Wide Receivers 3 Players Larry Fitzgerald, Joe Jurevicius, Kevin Boss
Kickers 1 Player David Akers
Team Defense 1 Team NY Giants

If a student fails to submit a weekly starting lineup, a lineup will be selected for them.

Statistics

The standings will be updated by Wednesday and will be posted on my website.
